This neighborhood bar is snuggled onto a residencial section of Racine, but it's not your typical sleepy local tavern. Dark wood and barstools abound, along with sports fans to fill them. Sure, there are the typical bar distractions (can I get a Golden Tee from the peeps?), but Higgins' prides itself on being a relaxed, fun environment with really killer pub grub.
Beer takes the form of a few standards, like Guinness and Miller, on tap with a hearty selection of bottled varieties, but the eats are anything but ordinary. Cheap and tasty, the food includes hearty sandwiches (meatloaf, anyone?) and daily lunch specials (everything from jambalya to ham, depending on the day of the week, for $6).
