Bailey's Restaurant and Bar is half country club, half small-town diner. The wait staff wear black pants with shirts and ties, but the Westmont establishment still has the down-home feel of a casual family restaurant. Old-timers and families seem to make up most of the clientele.
The restaurant specializes in steaks and chops ($15-$20), but the menu also has comfort foods like meatloaf and pot roast, seafood and pasta dishes ($10-$15). For a lighter meal, a few sandwiches and entree salads are available for about $10. Sunday breakfast is a busy time at Bailey's, but the $5 bloody marys, mimosas and bellinis make it worth the wait (try getting that deal at Denny's).
Like the website boasts, the bar really is a place where everybody knows your name. The friendly barkeep seemed to be on a first-name basis with everyone that set foot in the lounge. He was also very attentive (we never had to ask for a pop refill). With some charming stained glass above the bar and three TVs tuned to sports, it's a pleasant place to tip a drink and catch a game. On Saturdays from 4 to 7 p.m. and Sundays noon to 6 p.m., all appetizers except pizza are half-price at the bar.
