Pull on your most coveted thrift store T-shirt (or drop by Urban Outfitters for a vintage copy); that's all the preparation you'll need to become a part of Beachwood Inn’s hipster scene. In that so-old-it's-fresh way, Beachwood offers a blast from the past in the form of a stocked bar that pours drinks at bargain basement prices. You won’t find much to soak up the libations, as the menu consists solely of Vitner’s chips. The best bet is to make Beachwood Inn a post-meal stop.
A word of warning: Out-of-towners and suburbanites might feel a bit like outsiders at the Beachwood, a true neighborhood pub. The clientele's vibe hints of having frequently uttered “I-liked-(fill in the blank band/film director/etc.)-before-anyone-else-even-had-heard-of (them/him/her).” Kitschy movie posters adorn the walls, and might help launch conversations on the merits of Ed Wood’s filmography. At the very least, Beachwood Inn isn’t a bad place to eavesdrop on others. At its best, it could easily become a favored hangout, for its well chosen board game selection (Clue and Connect Four among them), its pool table and its classic Atari Millipede arcade game.
