Crew tags itself as "the world's greatest bar," and it just might be. That is, if you're into sports and beautiful, trendy boys who are, incidentally into sports and other beautiful, trendy boys. OK, so it's really more like "Chicago's greatest gay sports bar." But straight couples and singles will feel at home here as well, especially with heaping plates of gooey, kickass mac 'n' cheese paired with pints of their favorite brews.
This bar even offers a weekend brunch (11 a.m.-1 p.m.), 'cause nothing cures a hangover like the thing that caused it. Crew's brunch menu lets you chase away last night's drunken endeavors with egg-stuffed breakfast tacos, biscuits 'n' gravy and a little something called Alpana's Heart Attack Tater Tot Casserole (a huge mess of tots all mashed up with cheese, onion, bacon and sausage). Or if you'd rather relive your wild night, go for the threesome grilled cheese (American, cheddar and Monterrey slammed between two thick slices of toast). And then there are, of course, the bloody marys, bellinis and coffee-infused cocktails.
Take advantage of Crew's happy hour Monday through Friday from 4-6 p.m. when the bar offers half-price appetizers, or stop in earlier and snatch up the $5.75 lunch special (half a sandwich and a side). Log onto the bar's website to find daily specials and upcoming events like pop quiz trivia Mondays or Man the Mic Karaoke Tuesdays.
