Hipster types favoring a grown-up atmosphere will love this classed-up neighborhood lounge. An antique scalloped wooden fixture salvaged from a 19th-century church is dressed up with a vintage copper countertop for a curvy, knockout bar that encourages a little crowd-scoping.

Comfy booths are spacious and sleek, and big groups often stick around. Music is the topic of debate, inspired by the handpicked selection on the jukebox covering all the cool tunes of the last five years, plus some quality throwbacks. On the walls, an array of framed Chicago gig posters from Jay Ryan and other artists will surely trigger memories of shows you loved...or wish you'd been there to see.

Drinks are moderately priced (and strong), but the menu is the real attraction, offering mouth-watering sandwiches, burgers, steaks and salads. To-die-for ranch fries ($2.50) are the biggest crowd-pleaser, but if you're out to treat yourself, spring for the avocado-smothered ahi tuna sashimi squares ($10). Outdoor seating and brunch are coming soon.
