Editorial Review of O'Callaghan's

Do you feel like there's never enough time in the day to get to a restaurant before it closes? By the time you do all your homework, make all your phone calls, write out a living will and watch "The Bachelor," most places have put their kitchens to bed.

Thankfully, O'Callaghan's says, "No—you take your time, you do what you've gotta do and eat when you wanna eat." As long as you get there before 3 a.m., you're good.

The pub is typical of most Irish pubs (which is to say, very dark, minimally decorated and wall-to-wall polished brown wood); the bar itself, though, is strangely decked out with poles that resemble topless ladies from the Grecian period. The lunch menu, served from 11 a.m.-4 p.m., includes appetizers like fried ravioli and mozzarella sticks ($5.50-$5.75), salads like the grilled chicken salad and the country chicken salad ($7.50-$7.95) and 'favorites' like fish 'n chips and a chicken parmesan melt ($6.95-$7.95).

If you're eating late, you'll find similar, if greasier, fare, including chicken strips, beer-battered onion rings, a char burger, grilled cheese and even a 10-inch pizza with an array of the usual toppings.

Additionally, O'Callaghan's has a wide selection of various alcoholic beverages — 17 beers on draft and a big selection of bottled beers, wine and hard liquors, which at some point are bound to make you think that those topless pole-women are actual women. All the better.

Average cost: <$10
