Here's a statement that has surely been made about Wrigleyville, likely over a few beers: "Man, you could take any place around here, sell some wings and burgers and beers and make a fortune!" Wrigleyville Wild Wings is doing their best to disprove that idea. Located at the old Fly Me To The Moon space, WWW doesn't seem poised to burn a hole in the Wrigleyville scene any time soon.

Wrigleyville Wild Wings is obviously hoping to trade off of some goodwill set up by ubiquitous wing chain Buffalo Wild Wings, and if you've ever wanted to down a dozen hot wings while the remnants of a piano bar gather dust in a corner, well, look no further. The menu is pretty standard fare, and the space is typical for the area: random Cubs paraphernalia and posters of Wrigley Field are tacked to the walls while other decorations from FMTtM remain hanging. The ornate bar is completely out of place and the lack of draft beer doesn't help matters.

So, are the wings any good? Well, they're serviceable. Straight from the fryer and doused in a sauce that has a respectable bite for being called "medium" on the menu, they're on the small side but acceptable. The only hint of individuality is in the way WWW cuts their wings, leaving just the tip of the final joint attached when every other wing place on the planet cuts them at the joint itself.

Otherwise it's burgers, chicken sandwiches, fried shrimp and fish, nachos and quesadillas. Discerning wing fans won't find reason to rush here, and Wrigleyville fans unconcerned with quality will likely find other places to swill macrobrews and chomp bar snacks.
