| Hailing from Chicago, the members of 8 Per Second have been long time friends who have an unquenchable passion for creating, recording, and performing music and it shows. The bands passion and dedication has generated a vast catalog of original songs, as well as fans. 8 Per Second has carved out their own brand of Modern Alternative Rock with a heavy groove combined with elements of Electronica. Through collaboration with friend DJ Malloc Kurall, 8 Per Second continues to expand the sonic parameters of their sound and maps a musical territory to share with their fans. The combined members have many diverse interests and are influenced by many artists and genres. Some recent musical influences/interests include: Tool, Queens of the Stone Age, The Mars Volta, Jeff Buckley, Chemical Bro's, NIN, Audio Slave, Chevelle, Prodigy, Jimi Hendrix, Janes Addiction, Perfect Circle, Muse, and many more. Some of the venues 8 Per Second has played in the Chicago area include: The Double Door, Elbo Room, Subteranian, The Note, Lions Den, Martyrs, 602 North, Omalley’s and many more. 8 Per Second has also enjoyed and continues to seek radio airplay from major, college, and local radio stations throughout the Midwest as well as internet radio stations globally.
