Excellent Jazz Ensemble led by pianist/composer Marcin Januszkiewicz performs infrequently, but when it does -- for example at the 17th Chicago Jazz Festival -- is impressive. Says Chicago Tribune critic Howard Reich, "Marcin Januszkiewicz's Chicago Coalition produced exquisitely translucent sounds... His septet emphasizes warm ensemble colors... his language is pervasively lyric, introspective, and tonally radiant."
