Jonny Polonsky

Jonny Polonsky made it big with the help of some big artists. The story begins as Jonny sends out a ton of demo tapes in hopes of it landing in the right with the right person. Apparently the work paid off because Reeves Gabrels (Tin Machine) got a hold of it and passed it off to his friend Frank Black (Pixies). Frank Black liked it so much that he helped Polonsky record a new demo. Rick Rubin caught on and signed him to his record label, American Recordings. Only 21 at the time, "Hi My Name Is Jonny" was released in early 1996 and received strong positive reviews. With this album, Polonsky opened for Frank Black and toured with Lollapalooza. He soon entered the studio to record his next album, "There Is Something Wrong With You". But it was during this recording that Jonny lost his spot with American Recordings and the album was not released.

eggBERT Records took hold and released the album in April 2001. The album has six songs of pop/rock music and runs a little over 20 minutes long.
