| Flamboyant alto singer does not only blues, but also boogie-woogie and R&B. She's teaching elementary students about the music of classic blueswomen, like Ma Rainey and Bessie Smith, as part of Chicago's Blues in the Schools program. She and fellow Blues in the Schooler Erwin Helfer, are playing on the Front Porch Stage at the 1999 Chicago Blues Festival.
