Eddie Taylor's widow passed away in November 1999. The veteran blueswoman, though the once-legendary blues belter didn't perform often toward the end of her career, but she remained an important part of the city's blues community. She took part in a tribute to her husband's former bandleader, Jimmy Reed, at the 1999 Chicago Blues Festival with son Eddie Taylor Jr., Roy Hytower, Johnnie Mae Dunson and her son Jimi "Prime Time" Smith.
