With his EP and two full-lengths (under the local hip-hop label Fieldwerk Recordings), Chad Schneider (Void Pedal) has made tremendous strides as a beat maker. Omni Colour, his first album, dug deep into a myriad of styles, displaying everything from airy atmospheric soundscapes to straight-out-the-gate bangers. Still, the overall theme that ran through the album—and his others as well—is a fine attention to detail and tremendous pride in craftsmanship. His performance at the Whistler will be a nice warm-up before a nationwide tour with DJ Abilities, Jel and label mates Zavala and Crushcon7. (J. Min)
