When it comes to turntablism it’s hard to find someone as crafty behind the decks as Babu. His performances at DJ competitions like Vestax and ITF are still talked about today, and it’s no wonder why lauded labels like Stones Throw and Nature Sounds seek his expertise. As much as Babu is known for his abilities behind the decks what most people don’t know is how dedicated he is to digging. His crates are deep and he has breaks for days, which from top-to-bottom makes him a complete DJ. For his set at The Shrine he’ll be spinning at the Coup d’etat lounge, which can reach capacity fairly quick so early arrival is suggested. (J. Min)
