The Southern Soul Spinners, Soul Summit DJs: Dave Mata, Duke Grip, Sloppy White |
|
For the first time in Chicago, The Southern Soul Spinners will bless the decks at the Double Door with a set that’ll capture, as they describe it, “the Barrio Sounds of Latin & Lowrider soul.” It will be a solid night of dance-worthy funk, and of course—as always—the Soul Summit DJs will be there to keep the music going until the early hours. For those wanting a little taste before the main course, The Southern Soul Spinners will be putting on a set at The Mexican Museum of Fine Arts where author and music historian Ruben Molina will present a lecture (starting at 6:30pm) entitled Chicano Soul After the Death of Ritchie Valens.
