Lollapalooza may be the biggest gathering of nationally touring acts to converge on the city every summer, but that doesn't mean you can't still catch some great local talent. As usual, rounding out the line-up this year are a few familiar faces from the local scene ready to show the out-of-towners how we throw down in Chi-town. Centerstage recently caught up with some of the hometown heroes on this year's bill to get their thoughts on the festival and find out how they're getting amped up to face the swarms of sweaty music revelers this weekend.

How are you preparing for your Lollapalooza set?
Lots of breakdancing and eating healthier.

Do you have any memorable experiences from past Lollapaloozas?
Oh yeah, tons...The first year me and DJ Klever both crowd surfed, but they dropped Klever. Last year I surfed the Perry's Stage, but they threw me in the bushes! This year I'm going to try to walk on the crowd's hands, hope it works!

Who do you think are the top 3 "must see" bands/artists on this year's bill?
Yeah Yeah Yeahs, He Say, She Say and Esser.

What new band/artist do you think will be the surprise hit of this year's event?
Me and Esser!

What's your favorite non-musical aspect of the festival?
The people, man!

Any sage advice to fans for how to best enjoy the entire weekend?
Bring a fan, a towel and several bottles of water and hang out at Perry's Stage all day!!

Hey Champ
HEY CHAMP
How are you preparing for your Lollapalooza set?
A lot of wind sprints, calisthenics and tequila shots.

Do you have any memorable experiences from past Lollapaloozas?
Last year we were spectators and we remember dreaming of one day being able to play Lollapalooza ourselves. By some major oversight or mixup, here we are playing the main stage! Surely someone got fired over this.

Who do you think are the top 3 "must see" bands/artists on this year’s bill?
Tool, Fleet Foxes, TV on the Radio.

What new band/artist do you think will be the surprise hit of this year's event?
Definitely Hey Champ, although we've heard they're arrogant and super effete.

What's your favorite non-musical aspect of the festival?
The location and views of our city.

Any sage advice to fans for how to best enjoy the entire weekend?
Hydrate, and don't make out with really tall girls with Adam's apples. We've all learned that one the hard way...

How are you preparing for your Lollapalooza set?
Rehearsal, rehearsal, and more rehearsal.

Do you have any memorable experiences from past Lollapaloozas?
Watching my friend drunkenly scale a tree to get a better view of Rage Against the machine. I refused to follow him. Mistake.

Who do you think are the top 3 "must see" bands/artists on this year's bill?
Neko Case, Ezra Furman and the Harpoons, Langhorne Slim.

What new band/artist do you think will be the surprise hit of this year's event?
I think The Low Anthem are really going to turn some heads.

What is your favorite non-musical aspect of the festival?
Two words: golf carts.

Any sage advice to fans for how to best enjoy the entire weekend?
The only thing equally important as alcohol is sunscreen.
