What to expect: Something for every family member, from kids' games to nationally-known bands to a seniors' tent, all in the name of celebrating Dia de la Independencia (as well as un-officially recognizing the Latino family).
Why to go: The chance to see some Mexican celebrities, including soap opera, TV and radio stars.
Additional info: On Sunday, Festival de La Villita becomes the end destination for the second largest parade in Chicago, the 26th Street Parade, which literally funnels into the festival, bringing hundreds and thousands of its spectators.
