Why to go: Everyone needs to escape from time to time. As you check out antique cars and take in the sounds of the '70s, '80s, and '90s, you'll forget all about the problems of the current century. Just don't go so far back that you miss the Windy City Chili Cook-Off.

Additional info: Billed as Chicago's most popular neighborhood festival at over 50,000 people, Retro on Roscoe is now in its 13th season. It includes four stages of continuous entertainment. Family entertainment dominates the fourth stage.
