An outsider by choice among its yuppy neighbors, Jilly's Too! is nestled in a dark basement, cloaked in layers of swanky ambiance that give the hangout a sense of the old Mafioso days. But unlike its equally mysterious older sister,
Jilly's Piano Bar, this sleek younger sister has a more energetic feel.
Still catering to an older, classic crowd but more than triple the size of the original, Jilly's Too! features two bars at either end. Most guests head to the back area to stay well-hydrated. In between ordering second and third rounds, patrons direct their attention to the corner stage, where Colby Bassera Band plays cabaret-style jazz and funk nightly.
The weekends can get pretty packed and noisy, so swing by for a stiff one on a weekday night if you prefer more subdued environs. The bar stocks all the standard libations, but something about being in a place like this makes you want to order a Manhattan and wait for the Godfather to appear.
