| Trumpeter celebrates his 50th anniversary as the CSO's principal trumpet this year -- he joined the Chicago Symphony Orchestra's celebrated brass section as principal trumpet in 1948, after studying at the New England Conservatory of music. The chair has already been endowed in his name.
