| Barely Standing is an award winning, high energy female-fronted hard-edged rock band with a glossy classic rock sound tempered with steel--lipstick, leather & chrome. The band is lead by bassist Stevie Conlon and is fronted by classically trained vocalist Melissa Sassman. The band's outstanding guitarist, Mike Sawinski, keyboardist Jack Manzella and drummer Tony Amaro complete the line up. In 2004, Barely Standing released its self-titled original CD. Barely Standing was voted Chicago area's Best Rock Band in 2001, Best Alternative Rock Band in 2005 and Best Cover Band in 2006 by Chicago's Suburban Nite Life Magazine.
