| For some reason, all I could think of was Black Sabbath and Clutch while I listened to Monica Sohn of Big Blonde Wig sing the opening track, "Delilah," off of the band's self-titled 1997 release on Snowy Records. A little pissed off, indeed, and odd as I was listening to a female-fronted group. But as the album progresses, you can hear a fair blend of punk, metal and alternative. Hear them at local spots like the Empty Bottle, with guitarist Chuck Uchida, bassist Mike Feirstein, guitarist Bob and drummer Jaxon (they're into simplicity in names, just as they're into simple, droning music. However, Sohn does project that Courtney Love aggressive power.
