Big Hello

Chicago rock band, Big Hello, was founded by drummer and songwriter Brad Elvis, whose style and musicianship has been celebrated by fans and critics the world over. Elvis has teamed up with rock chanteuse and fellow songwriter Chloe F. Orwell on lead vocals, along with contributing songwriters guitarist Johnny Million and bassist Melanie X, to form one of the most exciting and promising bands to come out of Chicago in years. Radio personality Richard Milne of Chicago's esteemed commercial rock station WXRT named Big Hello as ?the band to watch in the coming year.?

Big Hello have become known for their energetic and impassioned live performances as well as their perfectly constructed original pop songs. Indie rock impresario Bruce Brodeen Not Lame Records calls Big Hello ?a band that rocks with vigor and humor rarely found in pop; whose songs are brash rock/pop blended with brilliant, sharp hooks that don?t let go.? Noted pop critic Jordan Oakes of Yellow Pills commented that Big Hello ?purveys the Midwestern pop stylings of Liz Phair, Garbage and Cheap Trick without recycling it.?

The band?s debut CD, The Apple Album, released on the Champaign, Illinois-based label < Parasol Records, received worldwide distribution and critical acclaim. The band has been interviewed and favorably reviewed in countless consumer and industry publications throughout the United States and the world including the Los Angeles Times, Chicago Tribune, Mojo (U.K.), Option, Amplifier, Bucketfull of Brains (U.K.), Rockr Grl, Sound Affects (Sweden) and Jem (Japan). The Apple Album was listed by Amplifier Magazine editor John Larson as one of the ten best albums of the year. The band also shot and released three music videos for The Apple Album and contributed to six major compilation CDs. Big Hello recorded an earlier limited edition seven-inch vinyl EP for Columbus, Ohio?s Break-Up Records! which sold out within weeks of its international release, making it the fastest selling record in the label?s history.

Big Hello?s music has received airplay on Chicago commercial radio stations WXRT and Q-101 (WKQX), as well as college radio stations throughout the country. . Internationally, Big Hello can be heard on the air in Japan, France, England, Portugal, Spain and beyond.

The group has recently release their second full length CD, The Orange Album.
