| Cornetist Rob Mazurek's popular quintet, which blends postbop, free improv and acid jazz, claimed a mainstage slot in the 1997 Chicago Jazz Festival. They've also released a recording on Delmark Records, Playground. Members of the band also include guitarist Jeff Parker, bassist Chris Lopes, trombonist Sara P. Smith, and drummer Chad Taylor.
