Lady D marries the classic house tracks of Chicago’s past with the choicest four-to-the-floor stomps of today, and always throws down a soulful and sinful set. Influenced by legends and encouraged by House veterans, “The Chicago House scene would be incomplete without Lady D,” as stated by Epitonic.com. Lady D is a prolific writer and poet whose spoken word vocal stylings captured the attention of Felix Da Housecat who remixed her smash, “High Again”. Her projects have appeared on vinyl and mixed compilations such as the famed Journey’s By DJ’s series. As Lady D continues to develop her production skills, she is becoming known for her deft edits and self-produced mixed CD’s as well as the now classic, critically acclaimed compilation, “Naked Kaleidoscope” (AfterHours Music). Lady D is a world renowned DJ who is respected by her peers, adored by her fans and recognized by media in such outlets as Billboard, International DJ, URB, Venus, Chicago Tribune, Chicago Sun Times, New City, UR and more. She is featured monthly on UK radio on VibeFM, “What’s Happening in the World of Dance Music”. After 10 years in the industry, with experience in A&R, production, touring, management and artistry, Lady D reaches another milestone as one of just a few women record label owners/A&R in the world. Her label D'lectable is distributed by Syntax of New York and is known as the hottest label to emerge from Chicago in recent history. The label roster reads like a Who's Who of house with names such as Jamie Principle, Glenn Underground, Mark Grant, Ron Carroll, E-Smoove, Stacy Kidd, Mel Hammond and many more. Summer 2005, Lady D led a 10-city summer tour in celebration of her achievements--10 years in the industry and D'lectable's anniversary. To cement the occasion, D’lectable will release “PERFECT 10: The Sound of D’lectable”, the double disc CD in March 2006. Making her name early on mainly as a DJ, Lady D has played for names like Billy Corgan, Queen Latifah, Dennis Rodman and the cast of Cirque Du Soleil. She’s graced decks for fashion giants Diesel, Hugo Boss, Macy’s and Bloomingdale’s and cosmetics companies Benefit and Skin Market. She’s opened major concert venues for the likes of Poi Dog Pondering, festivals such as Noise Pop and SummerDance in Grant Park, Sew Down (LA), SxSW (Austin), WMC and played with the top DJ’s in her field including Sneak, Roy Davis Jr., Kid Koala, Derrick Carter, Sandra Collins, Francois K and much more. Not to mention she’s played at or held residence at every important venue in Chicago including Shelter, Dragon Room, House of Blues, Crobar, Smart Bar, Boom Boom Room and Zentra. Lady D often contributes her in-demand DJ skills to well-deserved charitable causes and benefits. Lady D has traversed the international dance community and always represented herself as an ambassador of Chicago House music. As she turns her hand to more and more production, Lady D has expanded her discography with a number of productions/edits and remixes. She and SuperJane partner Dayhota recently remixed the L-Word Theme by Betty for the Showtime original series "The L Word". The remix will appear on an upcoming Tommy Boy Records compilation.
