| Formed in 1996, eighth blackbird is one of the premier new music ensembles in the world. Winners of numerous competitions, including the Naumburg Chamber music Award and the Concert Artists Guild Competition, they are currently in residence at the University of Chicago. Highlights of their past seasons have included South Korea, Mexico, and throughout the United States. Highlights of the 2003-04 season include their Carnegie Hall debut of David Schober’s Concerto for Sextet and Orchestra and their Polish and Canadian debuts. They have been featured on CBS Sunday Morning and in the New York Times.
