| Seminal Chicago music critic for the Chicago Tribune. Some say Kot was the catalyst for the emergence of several Chicago acts, including Liz Phair, onto the national scene. That's debatable. Easily evident, however, is the way the Chicago Tribune's coverage of the local rock music scene has taken off under Greg's pen (keyboard?). He now hosts "Sound Opinions" with the Sun Times' Jim DeRogatis on WBEZ 91.5FM (Chicago Public Radio) Saturdays at 7pm, and you can find his work in most issues of Rolling Stone as well... Kot recently received a Lisagor journlist award for his first-person looks at the arts-review process, Through the Eyes of a Critic.
