| Much like this city it calls home, Humpback Wail draws from various backgrounds and talents to create distinct dynamic music with wide-spread friendly appeal. Wrapped around poignant lyrics, Humpback Wail’s tight and full sound can be both crisply hard-driving and sweetly mellow. It is easy to see their broad influence as the band shifts from song to song in their extensive original repertoire. Blues-minded one minute, alternative rock the next, HW uses strong electric lead guitar with a chameleon-like quality that can steer them anywhere. Even, into a sound with country flair. All the while, the powerful bass and rhythm backbeat reveals and reinforces their blues-rock roots, and keeps their loyal fans singing along. Humpback Wail was formed in the fall of 2001, and contains a diverse, multi-talented group of musicians and songwriters whose art is their passion. HW has a rehearsal studio in Bolingbrook, and is playing gigs in the city and suburbs on a regular basis.
