Iron Lung Corp

A side-project of Chicago's Acumen Nation and Albany, NY's Clay People. Both bands play a 90's version of the techno-industrial-metal-cyber-rock-Wax-Trax thing. Iron Lung Corp is more of the same, though it does well to highlight each of the band's strengths. There are a few surprises however. Though most of the songs (written, for the most part, by lead-singer of Acumen Nation, Jason Novak, though the rest of the band chips in occasionally) are in the industrial vein of CP and AN, "Witchita" is a slower track opening with 5 minutes of quiet solo guitar and spoken word. There is also a nifty cover of Nitzer Eb's "Join in the Muderous Chant."

Though Iron Lung Corp has yet to play a live show under their own name, several Acumen Nation/Clay People double bills have become, in effect, ILC shows. (the album, in fact, was born as the result of a three month American tour the two bands did together.) Acumen Nation also plays some ILC songs at their local shows.
