Jeffrey Strauss
 
Baritone has performed -- to acclaim -- opera, oratorio, art song, and a wide variety of chamber msuic in his two decade career. After studying with Elsa Charlston in Chicago, Yvonne Rodd-Marling in London, and Gerard Souzay in Paris, Strauss has performed with artists including Robert Shaw, David Zinman, Simon Preston, Andrew Parrott, Sir David Willcocks, and David Brubeck, as well as (in Chicago) the Chicago Chamber Orchestra, Newberry Consort, Basically Bach, Contemporary Chamber Players, Chicago Chamber Musicians, and the Chicago Composer's Consortium. Strauss has been a featured soloist with a number of early music groups in North America and England, and is a regular guest of Tafelmusik in Toronto.

He has recorded for Westdeutscher Rundfunk, the BBC, Minnesota Public Radio, and harmonia mundi, and will be recording Monteverdi's Vespers and Bach's St. John's Passion during 1998-99, as well as touring through Boston, Pittsburgh, Toronto and Cleveland.
