| Since his start at booking bands for Roosevelt University in 1947, Joe Segal has run Chicago's premiere jazz venue (in ten different locations!), finally settling into its own home in River North. Segal is an active owner, cautioning patrons not to talk during the show, and entertaining with long, babbling monologues on jazz-related topics (for example, "Be-bop, the future of music.") Segal also recently opened a jazz club/restaurant on Navy Pier.
