Young Dutch cellist joined the Chicago Symphony Orchestra in June 1995 after an already notable career on the continent. In the US, she has appeared as a soloist with the Indian Hill Symphony, the Lincolnwood Chamber Orchestra, the Lakeshore Symphony, and on the Dame Myra Hess Memorial Concert Series, at the Ravinia Festival, and at the Marlboro Festival. She performs regularly as part of the CSO's Chamber Music Series, is a member of the Sebastian String Quartet, and has performed with the Chicago Chamber Musicians. She has collaborated with Richard Goode, members of the Beaux Arts Trio and Orion String Quartet, and was invited to join the prestigious avant-garde ensemble Kronos Quartet. She studied with Andy Lim in Cologne, Germany, then with Lynn Harrell at the University of Southern California and with Laurence Lesser at the New England Conservatory.
