| Chicago Symphony Orchestra Assistant Principal Cello Emeritus is on the Roosevelt University music faculty. After joining the CSO in 1956, he became assistant principal cello in 1964, and then served as acting principal cello for 2 years under Sir Georg Solti. He has coached Civic Orchestra cellists, and performed with the Chadamin Trio, Chicago Symphony String Quartet & Chicago Symphony Chamber Players, and was a founding member of the Evanston Chamber Ensemble (though he's retired after 16 years with the group). After high school, Chausow joined the Minneapolis Symphony, and served on the faculty of Carlton & St. Olaf's Colleges, before returning to his hometown (Chicago) after his service during the Korean War.
