Lil' Ed & the Original Blues Imperials

Says the Chicago Sun-Times of the 42 year-old virtuoso slide guitar player, "Ed recalls the rawest boogie of Hound Dog Taylor...high decibel, gut-bucket blues at its most brutally basic."

Ed picked up much of what he knows about the slide guitar from one of its true legends, his uncle J.B. Hutto. Though Ed started out playing the drums, he switched eventually to the guitar (his brother, who took up the bass, plays it in the Imperials). It's not traditional Chicago blues, but if you like a cross between blues and boogie, this guitar madman could be your guy...

The group is scheduled to be one of the headliners at the 1999 Chicago Blues Festival. The Imperials also contributed a track to Alligator's Hound Dog Taylor -- A Tribute.
