| One of Chicago's better known punk/country bands has a new record, Bastard Child on Bloodshot Records. Of the group, which serves up fast-paced and almost manic county- soaked tunes, Illinois Entertainer says, "Moonshine Willy surely has some crossover appeal, though their bluegrass roots run very deep." The band is led by Kim Doctor on vocals and guitar with Mike Luke on bass, Nancy Rideout on guitar, Rachel Ferro on fiddle, Patrick Skvoretz on drums. They are one of the tighter insurgent country bands in Chicago, and the female vocals give them a unique sound in this scene. Bold Displays of Imperfection (on Bloodhot Records, which also has a MW track on their compilation Hell-Bent, Insurgent Country Volume II).
