| American violinist Rachel Barton Pine is an inspiration to musicians and audiences everywhere. She began violin studies at age three, made her professional debut with the Chicago String Ensemble at age seven and made her first appearance with the Chicago Symphony Orchestra three years later. She has appeared as soloist with many of the world’s most prestigious ensembles and worked closely with many renowned conductors including Charles Dutoit, Zubin Mehta, Erich Leinsdorf, Neeme Järvi, Semyon Bychkov and Placido Domingo. Acclaimed collaborations include appearances with Daniel Barenboim, Christoph Eschenbach, William Warfield and Mark O’Connor. A prolific recording artist, her tenth disc was released on Cedille Records in September 2004. Other albums have been recorded on the Dorian and Cacophony labels. Ms. Pine holds prizes from several of the world’s leading competitions, was featured on CBS Sunday Morning, has twice appeared on NBC’s Today show and named “Classical Entertainer of the Year” at the annual Chicago Music Awards in 2003 and 2004.
