| A graduate of Tel Aviv's Rubin Academy of Music, Rami Solomonow was a member of the Israel Chamber Orchestra until 1972. After moving to the US in 1973, he studied with Shmuel Ashkenasi, and served as the Lyric Opera of Chicago's Principal Violist from 1974-1995. Solomonow has been a faculty member of DePaul University's School of Music since 1981, and has been the violist of the Chicago String Quartet since 1995. He is also a member of the Chicago Chamber Musicians. He has recorded with CCM, CSQ, and the Vermeer Quartet.
