| From 2000 to 2004 Reagan National Crash Diet was an integral part of the Chicago underground music scene playing steadily throughout Chicago and the Midwest. The dual attack of singer/ guitarists Chris Auman and Jen Charles earned comparisons to early LA punk in general and the band X in particular though the Diet continued to grow and expand their sound throughout their short-lived existence. RNCD released two CDs (2001's Administration and Sucktastic! in 2003) on Auman's RoosterCow label and were set to record material for a new album when the impending breakup disrupted those plans. Jen Charles moved to New York, Auman formed Soft Targets in 2004 and bassist, Carol Bales and drummer, Steve Kiraly joined local bands CoupleSkate and Kaspar Hauser, respectively.
