| Texas Flood, named after Stevie Ray Vaughan’s First album, was originally formed in January of 1991. Their first performance was on February 9th in Chicago, IL. Since then Sammy Ray & Texas Flood has played through out the Midwest and East coast in front of people from all walks of life that loved Stevie Ray Vaughan. They have had the opportunity to play with great blues legends such as Buddy Guy, Phil Guy, Jimmy Rodgers, Junior Wells, Byther Smith, Junior Johnson and Lefty Dizz, as well as rock legends like Buddy Miles, Savoy Brown, Foghat, Badfinger, Peter Frampton, and Dave Mason, just to name a few. From Buddy Guy’s Legends in Chicago, to the House Of Blues in Boston, Sammy Ray has helped keep the music and the feeling alive with the cover of many of Stevie Ray Vaughan’s classics like 'Pride and Joy', 'Cold Shot', 'The sky is Crying’, 'House is a Rockin’', along with S. R. V. style renditions of songs by Jimi Hendrix, Muddy Waters, Freddy King, Albert King, and Texas Flood originals in the same vain.
So sit back, close your eyes, feel the Stevie Ray Vaughan influence, and let Sammy Ray & Texas Flood take you one step further!
