| Growing up in the foothills of North Carolina, Seven Harkey swished with country music, gargled with pop, and spit southern rock. Greyhounding to San Francisco on the cusp of the early-Nineties Alt-Country surge, Seven explored combinations of Garage Pop, Country, Folk, and Distortion while fronting the bands Farmgirl and the Lomaxes (the latter named after heroes John & Alan Lomax). But big followings and critical acclaim didn't soothe Seven's hunger for a change of atmosphere, so after clocking in seven years in SF, he headed east for Chicago, where he continues to write songs of infatuation, death and other earthly delights.
