Tha Runawayz

There is a sound stirring on the south Side of Chicago, so unique so sweet and definitely street. It's the sound of a buzz growing louder and louder which can only signal the dawn of a return to a sound long gone from the streets of Chicago. Soul Music.....

Tha Runawayz have taken a sound and for the most part a struggle and are rejuvenating a music missing from the streets since the days of Curtis Mayfield. The Runawayz’s musical formula is influenced by an assortment of acclaimed artists; Curtis Mayfield, Edwin Hawkins and Robert Nesta Marley are only a few artists who have stimulated the creative design of tha Runawayz original music composition.

These four young men have been together for three years and are revitalizing the Chicago music soul/R&B scene. "I Just Can't Believe" their first single hit the clubs and commercial radio within a week of it's release. They've been featured performers at Both V103's a Night of Steppin at Harrahs Casino and still growing strong. They have taken their sound and gained the respect of artists all over Chicago becoming the house band on Monday nights at the Wild Hare "The Reggae Capital of America" bringing nothing but good old fashioned Soul Music....

It's time for Chicago to make way for the New Chi Soul....Generation X has finally Grown Up and tha Runawayz are at the forefront providing the soundtrack for the city streets.
