The Artist Formerly Known as Vince has been performing and recording for the last ten years with a number of bands and as a solo artist in Chicago. Drawing inspiration from 70's era glam rock to Cheap Trick, the resulting mix is a style of rock revival with a Midwestern twist.
To The Artist Formerly Known As Vince, the actual making of an album is just as exciting as the writing of the songs. Fascinated by the limits to which one can push recording, TAFKA Vince released his first album, "The Oh Wow Experience" - a combination of acoustic solo and band performances. Giving true meaning to the phrase D.I.Y., TAFKA Vince played all of the instruments on the record.
His latest effort, "At Last" continues in that spirit . . . entirely self-produced, and self-released, it was also recorded at home on a four-track! And who needs a backing band when you can have them all? The album includes special guest appearances by a bulk of underground Chicago bands including: Busker Soundcheck, Ruth Buzzy, Diplomat 6, Spelunkers, and Wiplot те" plus members of Caviar, Ike Reilly, Bitchy, Woolworthy, Box O Car, the Cells, Van Go, Nation Wide, the Thingies, and Bondo.
"At Last" comes as an enhanced CD-ROM featuring a video made by Eccentric Orbit Films for the song "Their Daughter".
Not content to rest on his laurels, TAFKA Vince also writes and performs music for a variety of theatrical productions. He has scored the soundtracks to several independent films, including "A Father's Wish" and Eccentric Orbit Films' masterpieces, "Fucked in the Face" & "The Last Fuck".
The Artist Formerly Known As Vince is currently at work on a new soundtrack for an upcoming Eccentric Orbit Films release and writing for a new album.
