Chicago punk legend Jeff Pezzati of Naked Raygun fame has returned with a vengeance! Backed by a solidified line-up that includes guitarist Jeff Dean (x-Story So Far), plus bassist Pete Mittler and drummer Mike Soucy (also know as the pummeling rhythm section of The Methadones), THE BOMB is now set for mass destruction. Razor-sharp lyrics with unrelenting and urgent guitars, crushing distortion and intense delivery define the bands post-punk sound. Throw in Pezzati's trademark "woah-oh-oh's" and vocal scorn and you know it's gonna be good. Recorded and produced by the incomparable J. Robbins (Jawbox, Against Me!, Bayside) 'Indecision' is a decisive display of precision songwriting and studio mastery. Twelve tracks of powerful and passionate punk rock from the man who helped define the Chicago punk sound.
The Bomb originally started in 1999, fueled by Jeff Pezzati's desire to return to his punk roots. Despite the band's quiet beginnings, Steve Albini (Shellac, ex-Big Black, recordist extraordinaire) took an interest in Pezzati's reemergence to the music scene and recorded the first two "Bomb" records, 'Arming' and 'Torch Songs,' both self released on Pezzati's own label, Jettison Music. The pairing was understandable, since both men are responsible for so much of their town's independent spirit and uncompromising music making. When Jeff Dean joined the band in 2002, "The Bomb" was revitalized. Pezzati thought "now this is something real." The band was changing in both its sound and its members, and when Pete Mittler and Mike Soucy joined in 2003, The Bomb was virtually reborn. Anchored by Pezzati's distinct hooks and Dean's jagged chords (both fierce in their attack, intelligent in their anatomy), "Indecision" rages NOT like Mr. Hyde, but a combination of its brute strength and its alter ego's high IQ. Punk rock, if you will, that doesn't forfeit any punch or catchiness.
The Bomb has played with the likes of The Damned, X, Rollins Band, The Suicide Machines, Big Wig, 7 Seconds, Mike Watt, and Solea. While The Bomb has been happy touring the Midwest, they look forward to doing some larger shows nationwide and in Europe. They are eager to take the world by storm.
