| One of Chicago's seminal punk rock ensembles, The Effigies were formed in early 1980, and, like Naked Raygun and Strike Under, were influential in developing the Chicago punk sound of that decade. They band split up in 1986, re-formed in 1987 (under a somewhat different lineup), and then split up in 1990. In 1992, the original members re-re-united at one of the finals shows at the Chicago club Exit. 2004 marked another reunion, this time playing shows throughout the midwest including The Bottom Lounge.
