The Saturn Project

The journey begins with a thought…a word…a dream…to make a difference…in this broken world… From the streets to the Nations The Saturn Project began in the inner city of Chicago. Jesse Santoyo, originally from Chicago, began his journey as a musician nearly10yrs ago. He began writing and composing original music that he performed in some of Chicago’s leading music venues. In 2006 the Chicago music awards nominated the band for “Best Rock Entertainer. The band began a major buzz in Chicago’s music scene with a promising future. As time moved on so did the band. Band members decided to pursue other ambitions leaving only the key-founding members Jesse and his brother Alejandro. Jesse and Alex decided to continue forward with the dream of making heart felt, and soul-searching music. Shortly after, Jesse re-connected with long time friend Travis Johnson, and with guidance and prayer, Jesse and Alex relocated to South Florida to join the staff at Life Pointe Church. It was there that a new direction was born. Stirring up the thought that what if they took their greatest songs and totally flipped the script on the music Industry? Rather then making an album for personal profit and Industry success, they would put together an extraordinary project and use it as a tool to make this world a better place! It was then that the brothers began to cultivate creative ideas. A dynamic team was established, and the dream for an extraordinary venture is now on its way to becoming a reality. Jesse recalls his father saying, “you can’t be afraid, sometimes you just have to close your eyes and go”. Travis Johnson inspired the Anthems project to not be more then just another album, but something with great potential on a global scale. Jesse would later reconnect with Brent Maloney from West Palm Beach, who is now the lead guitarist for the Saturn Project and a Catalyst for the Anthems for a Broken World movement. Matthew Izaquirre would later join the band as the bassist. Matthew was studying at Hillsong in Australia as well as performing as the a bassist for HIllsong united. Matthew would later decide not to return to Australia and join the Anthems movement. Where do we go from here? This dream was born in the streets as a simple thought for a better life. But now it has become the dream for a better world. There is no stopping this inner fire of pursuing this project to the fullest. It has been something in the works for many years, and finally the right frame of mind, and people are in place. Our hearts are aligned with God and its time to make this movement a reality.
