Urban Achievers
The Urban Achievers (UA) have been lurking the scene for several years. Previously playing and recording under the name Goldenboy, the group quietly disbanded and reassembled, reinventing its sound with Todd on bass and a new moniker. Combined with Goldenboy’s hits, the Urban Achievers have enough original material to rock the house for hours on end, any day of the week.

Vocalist Chris Prchal has been singing and playing as long as people would let him. Having built a fan base while attending Northern Illinois University, Prchal’s band, Mug's Alley, played the main stage at the annual Springfest/Grammy Foundation Concerts. Prchal’s solo work stretches to Europe and back. His first solo project, White Mice Killed the Dinosaurs, took him as far as England, Scotland and Denmark, as well as regional slots with local favorite, Sons of the Never Wrong.

Bill Lloyd is a household name for reasons unfit to list. Lloyd’s influences stem from a childhood infatuation with hair bands and heavy metal. Whether it’s G‘NR or Led Zeppelin; Van Halen or Def Leppard, Bill's licked it. As an original member of The Limbocats, he’s had his share of stage time, from Chicago's famed Vic Theater to the legendary Thirsty Whale. Lloyd’s also done his stint in Nashville, producing and broadcasting new talent and music, adding everything he’s learned to his own six string repertoire.

The Brothers Finch stand tall as the band’s hard and heavy rockers. As Todd says, "I don't play for fun," a veritable understatement. When the boys combine time and space, prepare your face for a rockin’. Scott pens a majority of UA’s lyrics, with Chris and Bill writing the music. In a recent interview, Scott divulged his source of divine inspiration to be a proximal companion. "All it takes is a good neighbor.” Concise words of a man residing in a duplex…

“Being a lanky powerhouse doesn’t come easy,” Mike explains, “People expect you to be, well…better.” Mike's been getting kicked out of organized music since middle school. Teamed with Lloyd at an early age, he’s learned how to please a crowd – beer and energy drinks. Besides clicking hits as an Urban Achiever, Mike drums whenever and wherever his talents are needed. Look for him at bus shelters and soup kitchens near you.

The Urban Achievers are The People's Rock.
