Weave Soundpainting Orchestra
 
Weave Soundpainting Orchestra is a multidisciplinary performance group and nonprofit organization formed in Chicago, Illinois. Featuring musicians, actors, dancers, and visual art Soundpainted by Artistic Director Sarah Weaver, Weave is on the forefront of new genres in contemporary multidisciplinary performance. Weave has performed numerous productions in concert halls, galleries, theaters, and dance venues including Links Hall (Chicago IL), Museum of Contemporary Art (Chicago, IL), Westgrand Studios (Chicago IL), Lucid Artists Gallery (Lake Point Towers, Chicago IL), Deep Listening Space (Kingston NY), Canterbury House (Ann Arbor MI), and ABC No-Rio (New York NY). Notable collaborators include soundpainter Walter Thompson (NY), soundpainter James Ilgenfritz (NY), visual artist/puppeteer Lisa Abbatomarco (IL), saxophonist/composer Joe Giardullo (NY), electronics artist Al Margolis (NY), and composer Stephen Rush (MI).

Aritstic Director Sarah Weaver has been a Soundpainter for the past 8 years. As the Artistic Director of Weave Soundpainting Orchestra and the Associate Conductor of the Walter Thompson Orchestra in New York City, Weaver is on the forefront of Soundpainting and contemporary multidisciplinary performance. Weaver is also a trombonist and is the Executive Director of the International Society for Improvised Music. Current trombone projects include In Ovo (interdisciplinary artist Lisa Abbatomarco), Sound Infusion (bassist James Ilgenfritz).
