Augusta, the Chicago Tribune reported these TWO closings. You are more informed than the Tribune because you live next door?? Feel free to eat whatever you want from this place, I stand by that report that there were no licensed sanitation personnel on site, and choose to take my limited bakery dining dollars elsewhere.

Just to clarify, I live right next to the bakery. They were shut down once since there existence, so check your facts, cheesecake lady. They went to court and the health department actually apologized, said they were wrong and reduced the fine in half. This was also anounced in a press release. They had one slow draining sink and a full garbage can. There were no actual health violations of any sort of dirt, contamination or rat droppings.

unfortunately this wonderful bakery has been shut down twice in a year by the city board of health because of sanitation issues and the lack of a licensed sanitation person on site.
i enjoyed their competing in a cake challenge on the food network but am not keen on their problems with sanitation.

It was well worth the wait. I love that they actually kept the original vintage sign too! These people know what they are doing and it's worth every penny. Thanks Bleeding Heart for moving closer to me! You rock.

FINALLY!! Damn that took a long time..but well worth the wait. Definatley kinks that need to be worked out, but as always..the desserts are devine!
