    All fuss, no flavor

C-House was a major disappointment; the food was all jazzed up in presentation, but really lacking in flavor. We tried everything and with a few exceptions, nothing really worked, for all the hype.

Specifically: - Halibut was too thick and tasteless; no real flavor imparted to it. - Sockeye salmon was rich and wonderful, but did not congeal with the eggplant; again, no major taste came through - Trout was weird; tasted like it came out of a strange river and again, only fish taste. - Tuna taco shells were cute, but not much inspiration. Although the grilled corn puffs underneath worked really well. - Baby squid salad was a hit, as well as the suckling pig. Excellent and taste WAS there. - Desserts were uninspired; good assembly, but where was the special sauce? - Wine list is shocking. All Pinot and Cab's. We were told the wine manager left 4 months ago and they were trying to 'move' the bottles before going forward. The problem with the wine list is that it does not pair with the food at all. Where were the amazing wines that go with fish? Simple. - Summary: you only have so much time in the kitchen, so what will you do with that time and how does the food creation show at the table. If you like presentation and low flavor, this is the place to go. - Total bill - 4 people without wine = $186.

By the way - service and atmosphere - solid. Very friendly and helpful hostess, server and manager!

WOW! What a great experience. We went this weekend and had dinner downstairs inthe restaurant. The food was awesome, the lamb was my favorite. Our server was was knowledgable and friendly. After dinner we were told to check out the upstairs roof-top bar on the 29th floor. It was absolutely beautiful up there. Our cocktail waitress was so cute and kept us entertained. I can't wait to go back.
