My favorite theater in Chicago. Excellent value, especially shows before 6 p.m.

It's not corporately owned and it shows. True, it seems to lack the impersonal sterility of those big theaters, but it's cuter and much much cheaper. The service is always nice and they always seem to play quality films...which is more than I can say for other theaters.

I love this theater! Yes, it's a little dirty and very outdated but the theater has character. I think people have become spoiled by the corporate movie theaters like Lowes and AMC. Have we forgotten that it's about the movies? The Davis is a great place to see first run hollywood blockbusters and independent films. I'm usually there twice a week. It's a charming and cozy place that shows first rate films at cheap prices. I repeat: I love this theater!

Pretty dirty, poor quality in sound. Kind of scary food handling. Not a great theatre by any means, but close and easy to walk to. yeah, but really dirty.
